Websites for Landscapers in Virginia Beach

Landscaping, Sod & Lawn Care in Hampton Roads

Be the Company They Find in March

Landscaping work in Virginia Beach arrives in a rush. On one local landscaping site I run, more than half of the year's quote requests came in during March and April, and most of them started with a homeowner typing "sod installation Virginia Beach" or "topsoil delivery Chesapeake" into Google, or asking an AI assistant who to call. If your site is a Facebook page, a one-page template from 2015, or nothing at all, that spring rush goes to whoever shows up first.

This page is part of my work with home service contractors in Hampton Roads. I hand-code every site; no WordPress themes, no page builders, nothing generated by AI. A five-page Launch Site is $3,500, and it includes the quote form and Google Analytics setup that let you count the requests the site brings in, not guess at them.

Real Numbers From a Landscaping Site

What a Landscaping Website Should Produce

Contact-form submissions from a sod and landscaping company in Virginia Beach, January through early October 2026, counted by hand. Real quote requests only; spam, bots and sales pitches removed.

  • 2/mo Quote requests through the contact form 19 real requests in 2026 so far; 11 of them in March and April
  • 79% Started with a Google search or an AI assistant 15 of 19 requests named search or AI as how they found the company
  • 1 in 5 Said ChatGPT sent them 4 of 19 requests in 2026, including a contractor confirming a sod spec for a bid

Over the site's full history since 2024, requests by type: sod installation 35%, sod delivery 26%, topsoil, compost and mulch delivery 18%, and the rest lawn renovations, trees and commercial bids. Phone calls aren't in these numbers, so treat them as a floor. Ask on a call and I'll walk you through them.

What Every Landscaping Site I Build Includes

A third of that site's requests were for sod installation and a quarter were for sod delivery. Those are different searches by different customers, and each needs its own page to rank. That shapes everything below.

  • A page for each service, so "sod installation," "sod delivery," "topsoil delivery" and "lawn renovation" each have a page Google can rank
  • A quote form that asks for the address, the square footage and whether it's pickup or delivery, so you can price the job before you call back
  • A "how did you hear about us?" field on the form, so you know what's working: that's where the search and ChatGPT numbers above come from
  • Service-area pages that say plainly where you work, so you stop fielding delivery requests from three hours away
  • A before-and-after gallery you update yourself from your phone, no developer needed
  • A seasonal specials page you can change when the sod farm's prices do
  • A tap-to-call number on every screen, and an FAQ that answers "do you deliver," "what's a pallet" and "how much do I need" before they call
  • Google Analytics set up to count quote requests and phone taps, not page views, and a local developer in Virginia Beach who answers the phone

Common Questions

Landscaping Website FAQs

How much does a website cost for a landscaping company?

A five-page Launch Site is $3,500 as a one-time fee: home, services, gallery, about and contact, with the quote form and analytics included. A company that sells sod and materials as well as installing them usually needs a page per service, which I quote individually. Hosting and maintenance plans are $99, $199 or $349 a month after launch, on the pricing page.

My work is seasonal. When should I launch a new site?

In the off-season. Google takes a few months to fully index a new site, and on the landscaping site above, 11 of the year's 19 quote requests arrived in March and April. A site that launches in November or December is indexed and ranking by the time the spring rush starts. A site that launches in April misses most of it.

Do I really need a separate page for every service?

Yes, if you want to rank for more than your company name. "Sod installation Virginia Beach" and "sod delivery Virginia Beach" are different searches by different customers, one wants a crew and one wants a pallet dropped in the driveway. Google ranks a page that is about one of those over a page that lists both in a sentence. Each service page is also the page an AI assistant quotes when someone asks it who delivers topsoil in Chesapeake.

Will I get requests from outside my service area?

Some. Search results don't stop at the city line, and a page that ranks well draws the occasional request from two or three hours away. Service-area pages that name the cities you work in, plus an address field on the quote form, keep those to a minimum and let you spot the ones that slip through before you spend time on a quote.

Does ChatGPT really send landscaping customers?

On one local site, 4 of 19 quote requests in 2026 said so in the "how did you hear about us?" field, and all four were from April onward. It is not a separate marketing channel; the assistants read the same things Google does, your site's plain service pages and your reviews. A site that states what you do, where you do it and what it costs is what gets quoted. The form field is how you find out whether it's working for you.

Can I post my own seasonal specials and project photos?

Yes. When a gallery or specials page is part of the build, I set up a simple editor so you can add before-and-after photos, change a price or post a spring special from your phone. Anything bigger than a photo or a line of text is covered by your hosting and maintenance plan.
